MEDCO is the largest Lebanese full
product line petroleum company providing its customers with fuel for transportation, energy for
heating and lighting, and most of all innovation in value-added services.
Our business is about importing quality refined petroleum products,
distributing them to service stations, businesses and homes and marketing
customer-oriented quality services. We retail Gasoline, Diesel Oil, LPG and
Caltex Lubricants to more than 250 service stations across Lebanon, and own and
operate in direct 25 service stations in prime locations.

Our roots go back to 1910 with the inception of our mother company Ets. Georges
N. Chammas, while incorporated in 1969. Our network expansion and robust growth
was powered by a strong will to rebuild twice (1979 and 1989) our petroleum
installations against all odds after the war damages, sustained capital
spending and a commitment to be first in the provision of quality petroleum
services and related services. MEDCO is 100% privately owned
and a 3rd generation family owned company.

The Chammas Group is one of the largest, privately held, groups of
companies in the Near-East.
Founded in 1910 by the late Georges N. Chammas, we pride ourselves on an
uninterrupted record of growth, continuity and profitability.
Shortly after our inception, we became the largest importer and marketer of
coal in the Middle East, at a time when coal was the major source of energy.
Eventually, our group made the transition to petroleum activities and was the
first in 1924 to import bulk refined products into the area.
The Group’s activities are in import, export, storage, trading, refining,
marketing, transportation and distribution of a full range of petroleum
products in the Near East.
In addition, we actively represent, sell, support and distribute goods and
services from major international manufacturers in the petroleum, computer,
electronic, electrical equipment and retail industries.
In fact, over the years the Group has been a pioneer in investing and
developing multiple strategic business units in energy, high technology,
construction and communications. |

companies such as Agip, Boeing, Chevron, Credit Commercial de France, Dresser

Packard, Oracle and Texaco, Caltex Lubricants, Wagner, ATE, among others.
Structured for success, we operate a privately held family business, led by the
second generation, as a public corporation. With corporate guidelines, a
