Medco educates the youth with a
“Power to the Community” campaign
On November 10th, 2008, Medco hosted a
conference under the patronage of her
Excellency Mrs. Bahia Hariri, the
Minister of Education and Higher
Education at the InterContinental
Phoenicia Hotel, inviting the lucky
winners of the Instant Emotion Card
promotion. Accompanied by their
children; winners sat amongst gas
station managers, Medco’s CEO Raymond
Chammas, Mrs. Michele Garzouzi,
Marketing Manager and Emir Walid Chehab,
Human Resources Manager .
This conference is a celebration of
Medco’s initiative to offer 100
scholarships as loyalty rewards when
filling gasoline in all Medco branches
across Lebanon. Medco believes that no
other gift can be more valuable than
education, and that’s when Medco came up
with the idea and launched its “instant
emotion” loyalty card. This loyalty card
allows all customers to accumulate
loyalty points each time they fill 20 L
of gasoline. Each electronic sales
ticket is issued when using the card, it
becomes a lottery ticket. At the end of
August, September and October, the
National lottery selected 80 winners in
total, who were announced today, with 20
more scholarships forthcoming in
November and December, so for the
upcoming winners keep your fingers
crossed and keep the anticipation going!
During the conference, the children of
the winners walked up to a big
whiteboard and colored it with pictures
and quotes that expressed their true
thoughts and emotions towards Lebanon,
education, growth and peace.
The conference was entitled “Power to
the Community”, given that Medco
strongly believes in human energy, and
the power to increase its luminosity.
Only education
can make the children of Lebanon achieve
their goals in life and open up to new
horizons.
